At Camp Canine your dog will exercise and socialize with people and other dogs. As a result, you'll have a happy and fit dog. Activity level at camp will also help eliminate problem behaviors such a chewing and barking. Daycare is also a good solution for dogs with separation anxiety, youngsters with a high energy level and older dogs who need to go outside more often.
Exercise: Camp activities are designed for dogs with different interests and physical capabilities. Dogs will play in supervised groups according to size, age, and temperament. Many dogs like to be outside even if they are not active in play and quiet areas for outdoor relaxation are available. Dogs will go in and out during the day, to rest, cool off, or warm up as the weather dictates.
New Campers: For the safety of everyone at camp, it is important that all dogs interact positively together. We require that all dogs pass a temperament evaluation. There will be a $15 fee for this evaluation. We will sit down and discuss your dog's history (socialization, training, interactions with other animals, etc.). Once the written evaluation is complete and we feel it is necessary, your dog will be introduced to another camper. We will monitor your dog's body language and reactions. If all goes well your dog is accepted to the Camp Canine family. Once accepted, reservations can be made at any time.
When to start Daycare: We accept puppies 12 weeks on up who have completed their shots and have received a bordatella vaccine. All shots must be current, (within the past 6 months) negative fecal check is also required. We take any dog, but, must require that any male dog 6 months or older be neutered. Many dogs that cannot play with other dogs when their owners participate, can very often be worked with and play fine at camp.
HEALTH RULES:
- Spayed/Nuetered
unless given a "special allowance"
- We
must have a copy of current shots from your veterinarian (Rabies, DHLPP
and Bordatella). Puppies must have two rounds.
- Dogs
must be on a veterinarian flea control and heartworm program. FLEA COLLARS
DON'T COUNT
- Non-aggressive,
non-protective, and able to play well with other dogs and people.
AS WITH CHILD DAYCARE, IF YOUR PET EXHIBITS SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS i.e. VOMITING, DIARRHEA ETC. WE WILL CONTACT YOU AND REQUEST THAT YOU MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP YOUR PET. We attempt at all costs to provide healthy space for campers, but recognize that illness does occur.
SPECIAL ALLOWANCE: We reserve the right to waive any of our policies for dogs involving special activities. Special allowances may be granted after interviewing the owner and the dog.
